ABOUT ME
Shelly Ciprut
I was born and raised in Istanbul/Turkey. Living in Israel since 2014.
My yoga journey began in 2005 in a challenging period of my life when a friend of mine took me to my first trial class in YogaSala, my first yoga home in Istanbul. At the beginning I was skeptical and during my first class I mostly laughed; but at the end of the class I felt a sense of calmness and inner connection that I haven't experienced before.
It was in 2007, at a yoga camp with one of my precious teachers, Uma, when I decided that Yoga would be an indispensable part of my life.
In 2011, I completed my first Yoga Alliance Certified Vinyasa Teacher Training Course under the leadership of Alexis Gulliver. Following this, I attended many other trainings that added value to my practice and teachings. Such as Prenetal Yoga TT, Insight Yoga TT based on Yin/Yang and Meridian Theories practices with Sarah Powers, Advanced Teachers Training with Hart Lazer, based on safety and therapeutic techniques. Teacher intensives with Richard Freeman, Chris Chavez, Orit Sen Gupta and Noah Mazeh. Also workshops/retreats with Dharma Mittra, Todd Tesen, Michael Stewart, Chuck Miller, Mark Darby, Carry Owerko and many more...
I continue researching and learning in a curious way from many teachers and I believe that each and every student that steps into my class or every person that steps into my life also serves as a teacher.
I also studied Thai Yoga Therapy and completed Therapeutic Training Course with the aim of bringing structural and somatic solutions for different types physical and mental pain or trauma that the body might be containing.
My classes are generally designed around a theme with a mindful sequence that focuses on finding softness within strength and vice versa. Along the years I developed my own technique which I call “Yoga as Internal Massage” to make yoga more accessible. You can read about the technique here.

Yoga for me is a passionate awareness adventure that starts on the mat and moves all the way to our inner and outer connections.
